At an outside corner in the main tallship area I looked both ways and, like many I guess, had to have a record of the number of ships in just this area. These thumbnail link to images a little over twice the size (and about 65k each). A litle further along towards the sun are the replica of the Matthew, John Cabot's ship (nearest), and behind that, the Grand Turk, the ship built for the Hornblower television series. A have a love for the purposeful elegance of luggers in general, and these superbly powerful Breton fishing boats in particular. I think this is the class known as a bisquine. Timing and lens swaps (I must get a zoom) stopped me getting the shot I wanted -- the Breton fisherman with the Brittany Ferries ship livery behind. These were the closest I managed. Ho Hum. |
